Zygon Center presents “Science as Liberation Praxis” on June 14

June 6, 2022

LSTC’s Zygon Center for Religion and Science welcomes Dr. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein for a lunchtime presentation on June 14. Her presentation will address such questions as: How can science itself be a liberatory practice? What does it mean to practice science in a racialized world and a racialized guild for the work of liberation and justice?

Dr. Prescod-Weinstein was recently awarded the LA Times Book Prize in Science and Technology for “The Disordered Cosmos: A Journey Into Dark Matter, Spacetime, and Dreams Deferred.” The book was a favorite read in LSTC’s seminar “Spiritualities of Knowing” during the 2021-2022 academic year.
