October 24, 2021: Sounds of Faith: A Musical Interfaith Collaborative Event
The Center of Christian-Muslim Engagement for Peace and Justice (CCME) at LSTC, in collaboration with American Islamic College and the Interreligious Institute at Chicago Theological Seminary, will host a musical, interfaith collaborative event on October 24 from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Central.
The event is in honor of Shakeela Hassan, a Hyde Park interfaith leader. The event will feature an auditory program including sounds of various religious traditions. This brings the interfaith community together to learn about (compare and contrast) one anothers' styles of recognizing the sacred and to interact with one another in a fun and creative way.
The event will be offered in person at American Islamic College, 640 W Irving Park Rd in Chicago, and via Zoom. In-person attendees must provide proof of ID and vaccination card upon entrance to the building. Those without proof of vaccination will be required to show ID and proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the event. All individuals interested in attending either in-person or virtually are encouraged to register below.

In addition to remembering, the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago annually commits to the denunciation of anti-Semitism now and in the history of our tradition, and seeks to join together people of all faiths in the work of the world’s mending, the healing of the nations.
