GIFT OF SECURITIES OR CRYPTO CURRENCY

Donating stock or other securities to the seminary offers you an opportunity to invest in theological education while potentially realizing significant capital gains tax savings. LSTC will assign a value of your gift, for counting purposes, based on the average of the high and low market values on the date of transfer. Be sure to consult a tax advisor for guidance on how to value securities gifts for tax purposes.

For traditional securities, please use our stock or securities transfer instruction form to assist you in the process.

To transfer units of crypto currency, follow this link.

To ensure proper delivery and recording of your gift, please be sure you or your financial services firm inform the Advancement Office of the transfer details and your gift intentions before the transfer is processed to advancement@lstc.edu

Grants made through DAFs, for example, cannot be used to purchase events tickets or tables at a fundraising dinner. There are limitations on using these grants to satisfy an existing pledge.
