“My life is mostly teaching and writing. I like being in the classroom teaching systematic and constructive theology. It helps students figure out and name their theology."

Professor of Systematic Theology

In his own words:

“LSTC faculty is very caring. This is shaped by the fact that LSTC is so multicultural and has so many international students.

“My advanced-level courses are a learning and a teaching experience. They are always topical and always a challenge. LSTC doesn’t look for a homogenous approach or way of thinking from its students.

“I came to LSTC because it’s in Chicago and, specifically, in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Hyde Park feels almost like a little town in proximity to a large city. The number of theological scholars here is rivaled only by the number present in Rome, Italy. Scholarly opportunities here are unequaled anywhere else in the world.”

Westhelle is a popular and frequent lecturer and presenter at conferences, colleges and universities, church gatherings, and congregations across the United States and around the world.
