Covenant ClusterWithin the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), clusters are the structure for cooperation in many areas of theological education. Clusters share faculty and develop specializations through joint planning. The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago is in the Covenant Cluster with Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, and Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. Together the three seminaries relate to and serve the 24 synods in Regions 4, 5 and 6 of the ELCA. Almost half of the ELCA's members and more than 4,000 congregations constitute these synods. One such cooperative venture is distance learning through online courses for continuing education (CEUs) and lay theological education (personal enrichment, or certification for Synodically Authorized Ministry). Online courses offered through Wartburg can be found through the following link to "The Center for Theology and Land" sponsored by Wartburg Theological Seminary and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary: http://www.ruralministry.com/Courses/Courses.htm Seminaries of the Covenant Cluster Lutheran
