The Rev. Carole A. Burns Memorial Scholarship

The Rev. Carole A. Burns Scholarship Fund was created by the LSTC Gospel Choir in 2002 as their ministry project.

The Rev. Carole A. Burns, a choir member and one of the founding members of the Grover Wright Scholarship Fund, was the first female to preach and teach at a Diocesan assembly during the choir's 1997 tour in Tanzania, East Africa. Rev. Burns was born into eternity on December 27, 2001. In honor of her life and gifts the LSTC Gospel Choir has established the Rev. Carole A. Burns Memorial Scholarship Fund as another ministry project of the choir. This scholarship supports African American women studying for ministry. The bright red robes that the choir wears are a gift from the people of Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend, Wisconsin in memory of Rev. Burns.
