DIACONAL MINISTRY
Diaconal Ministry is a ministry of Word and service. A newly created rostered position of the ELCA diaconal ministry is an exciting approach to ministry that bridges the work of the church with the needs of the world. Diaconal ministers are consecrated for service in a number of ways, including social justice agencies, chaplaincies, community organizing groups, and traditional or cutting edge church programs that bring healing and wholeness to God’s people.
Diaconal candidates can either pursue the master of divinity degree or the master of arts program, depending on the ministry and training that is required for that position.
