Dorothy Dominiak, Director for Admissions and Financial Aid

Dorothy DominiakTogether Joy McDonald Coltvet and Dorothy Dominiak co-direct the Office of Vocation, Admissions, and Financial Aid, with each director exercising responsibility for particular areas of work, as well as some shared tasks.

Dorothy oversees the daily operations of the office, including processing all admissions applications in consultation with the Admissions Committee, notifying applicants of admissions decisions, maintaining contact with LSTC’s pool of prospective students, overseeing responses to all requests for information, providing detailed record maintenance for the admission of financial aid for M.A. and M.Div. students, offering financial aid counseling to students, overseeing the administration of the Federal Stafford Load Program, administering paperwork and documentation required for students to receive scholarship awards, and working with the Advancement Office to match student recipients of aid with the appropriate scholarship and endowment funds.  She partners with the Director for Vocations and Recruitment in participating in campus recruitment events and meeting with the Admissions Committee.

Bio

Dorothy began her service at LSTC in the masters level admissions office August 1989, becoming Assistant Director of Admissions in 1996 and Associate Director in 1997. She served as president of her former congregation, Ashburn Lutheran Church on Chicago’s southwest side, as well as in many other capacities at Ashburn, where she was a member for 33 years, and currently is a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Bolingbrook, Illinois.  Dorothy is from the Chicago area and currently lives in Bolingbrook with her husband, Bob.
