Life @ LSTC : Green Seminary

We believe that care for creation should be integral to the life and mission of this seminary—a part of our ethos.

Dave Rhoads, advisor to the Green Zone

LSTC.Since the late 1980s, LSTC has been a leader in providing students with the theological and practical knowledge to lead congregations and communities in care of creation. Throughout the 2009-2010 academic year, LSTC will celebrate Earth Year.

The Green Zone committee offers direction and leadership for theological education for a sustainable future. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate at some level to make LSTC a Green Zone through Community Worship, education, earth care practices throughout our building and grounds, public ministry/political advocacy.

LSTC has been designated a Lead Institution by Theological Education to Meet the Environmental Challenge, named by Sojourners magazine as a leader in Sustainable Theological Education and featured on Chicago Public Radio.
