PROSPECTIVE STUDENTSThank you for seeking information about the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Centered in the gospel and open to the world, LSTC is located in a vibrant urban setting and in an ecumenical consortium of Christian seminaries, with a diverse faculty and student body. LSTC features strong emphases in the following areas: Urban Ministry, Religion and Science, Biblical Studies, Environmental Ministry and Interfaith. Other institutional commitments include: Center for Christian-Muslim Engagement for Peace and Justice, Green Zone, Multicultural Center [Hispanic/Latino Studies, African-American Studies], Social Work Dual degree program, Women's Studies, Youth in Mission Program, and Zygon Center for Religion & Science. LSTC, a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, prepares pastors, theological educators, lay professional leaders, diaconal ministers, and other church leaders who are centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and committed to the Christian faith. LSTC promotes theological research and publication and preserves, explores, and interprets the Lutheran Heritage as a confessing movement calling the whole church to renewal.
