International Student Affairs Office (ISAO)

The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago is a global community. Nearly 60 international students and scholars (plus spouses and children) are on the Seminary's campus each year. While involved in academic programs and research, these international folk enrich the entire community by sharing their unique gifts, life experiences, theological insights and cultural diversity.

Here in the International Student Affairs Office (ISAO) we try to assist the international members of our LSTC family as they enter and adjust to new and unfamiliar surroundings. We also encourage the entire community to experience the global nature of the Christian Church.

LSTC has a fabulous International community. These international students bring to LSTC the rich heritage of their culture and a glorious diversity of Christian traditions. LSTC has been blessed to have a glimpse this rich tapestry of cultural diversity when these offering are brought to the table through different events like the International Christmas Party, Cultural Night and the Farewell Party organized by the International Students Association (ISA).

International Students at LSTC also have been a great resource to the Churches around the Chicago Metropolitan land area. More recently our international students provided leadership at the Global Village Camp, bringing a truly world wide, inclusive flavor to the camp.
