Student Groups
Student Government
CORE
LSTC has three student government organizations. CORE represents M.A.T.S., M.A.M., and M.Div. students. The Graduate Student Association (GSA) represents Th.M. and Ph.D. students. The International Students Association represents all international students. All three bodies advocate on behalf of students in relation to the faculty and administration and has an elected advisory representative to LSTC's board of directors.
Three CORE representatives are elected from each class. A student spouse is also a member of CORE. One member from each class serves as the class convenor and conducts class meetings.
GSA and ISA elect a president, secretary and treasurer for each of their organizations.
Student Organizations
In addition to student government and student service on seminary-wide committees, students form special interest committees as the need arises. The Anti-Racism Task Force, formed to raise consciousness and make changes related to institutional racism, and Thesis 96, formed to work toward the full inclusion of gay and lesbian persons in the life of the church are examples of student organizations at LSTC.
