LSTC Green Zone:
Transformation through Education


LSTC provides a wide spectrum of opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to commit to care for creation through education.

Course offerings through LSTC and the Association of Chicago Theological Schools (ACTS)
Examples include--(the following are links to course descriptions/syllabi):

“The Future of Creation” (Spring 2008) PDF
“Biblical Perspective on Nature”
“Greening of the Church”

Field Education places interested students in environmental agencies for fieldwork.
LSTC sponsors workshops for seminarians to address various aspects of ecojustice ministry.
Green Zone sponsors students to attend ecological conferences in Chicago, the mid-west, and around the world for practicum credit.
Students may choose an Environmental Ministry emphasis as part of their degree program.

Various LSTC faculty have published books and papers, presented sermons, or given lectures on the subject of the environment. Many of these works are collected in “Creation and the Future of Humanity: LSTC Writings on the Environment.”
