Presidential Inauguration Weekend

Inaugural Weekend Event - President’s Forum: "Ministerial wisdom."

Saturday. Oct. 27, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
What kinds of ministerial wisdom will be needed in the emerging years to announce the gospel for richer discipleship? Panelist Dr. Nancy Ammerman, professor of sociology of religion at Boston University; Dr. Bonnie Miller-McLemore, E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Professor of Pastoral Theology and Counseling at Vanderbilt University; and the Rev. Dr. Michael Burk, bishop of the ELCA’s Southeastern Iowa Synod explored that question.

The Rev. Dr. Linda E. Thomas, LSTC professor of theology and anthropology, served as the moderator for the discussion. Recent LSTC alumni served as respondents: the Rev. Jhon Freddy Correa, pastor, Emmaus Lutheran Church, Racine, Wis.; the Rev. Yehiel Curry, pastor developer, Shekinah Chapel, Chicago, Ill.; and the Rev. Linda Norman, treasurer, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

James Nieman presented an inaugural lecture following the panel discussion and response.
