Feb. 19, 7:00 p.m.- Jazz at the Sem
The Bobby Schiff Trio plays jazz standards new and old. For over 35 years both in Chicago and Los Angeles Bobby Schiff has performed and collaborated with such greats as Mel Torme, Peggy Lee, Bobby Rydell, Marvin Hamlisch, and a host of others.
He currently works in Chicago as vocal arranger and accompanist. The Chapel Music Series welcomes his Jazz Trio as it presents and evening of Sinatra tunes. An offering will be gathered. Download poster.
April 15, 4:00 p.m.- 24th Annual Gospel Choir Concert
Keith Hampton leads this spirited annual tradition featuring LSTC's own Gospel Choir, along with choirs from around the area. Free will offering will be gathered.
First Tuesday of the month, 12:20 p.m. - Paul Manz Organ Recital Series
Tom Wikman and others present 30 minutes of music on Augustana Chapel's noted 2004 Bigelow pipe organ. Free. (Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1, Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Feb. 7, Mar. 6, Apr. 3, May 1)

Oct. 16, 4:00 p.m - Hymn Festival.
"A Time for Singing" was the theme for this year's hymn festival. Centered on Ecclesiastes 3, Cantor Daniel Schwandt and the LSTC Cantorei lead hymns new and old in the Augustana Chapel.
Dec. 4, 7:00 p.m.- Advent Lessons and Carols
Daniel Schwandt, the LSTC Cantorei, and Dean of the Chapel Ben Stewart lead LSTC’s annual celebration of the season in word and song.
Jan. 8, 4:00 p.m.- Bach for the Sem
The annual benefit concert for LSTC by Lutheran professional musicians features Bach's Christmas Oratorio, pt. 3, the premiere of a Concerto for Contrabass by Douglas Johnson, carol and hymns, and the closing chorus of the rarely performed Christmas Oratorio by Heinrich von Herzogenberg for double chorus, children's choir, and orchestra.
Directed by Mark Bangert, this year's concert will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 7300 Division Street, River Forest, Ill. Tickets available December 2011 and at the door. Advance purchase: $18 adults/ $8 students & seniors. Day of concert: $20/ $10. Call 773-256-0712 or email rdeppe@lstc.edu.
