CREDIT BY EXAM:

This is an option for students who have done work comparable to that covered by an LSTC required course. This option may also be of interest to students who have not had previous work in a subject, but who prefer the method of private study rather than class attendance. A grade of B or better must be received in order to gain course credit by this method.

Students should make known their intention to undertake study for such and examination by completing this form and submitting it to the Registrar’s Office. These examinations are normally given at the end of each term. Such an examination will be somewhat more rigorous than an ordinary end-of-term course examination, since in a course the examination is supplemented by other forms of interaction and accountability, including possibly a midterm examination.
