CURRENT STUDENTS
I was at a praise dance recital recently at a church where one of our students is. The dancers from the church energetically entered the church and filled the sanctuary with color and movement and music, the music of that song “The presence of the Lord is here.” The words and jazzy music of that gospel song lift the spirit and bring to mind that in the lightness and balminess of spring, it is easy to see God’s presence at work in the world. From grass turning green to daffodils and crocuses and tulips poking through the earth to buds bursting into tiny light green leaves, creation is aglow and brimming with new life. Here at LSTC, people are studying outside on the benches, smiling in a way that was not as frequent during the long and on-going blizzards and cold snaps of this past winter, and there is a renewed sense of energy, hope and well-being---the presence of the Lord? The truth is the presence of the Lord is always with us. It is reported in the Bible that Jesus says to the disciples, “I am always with you.” That promise comes to us also. The trick is to be able to visualize/feel/engage with that God’s presence no matter the time or season. With spring and new life, the energy flows and we bounce into God’s presence with renewed vigor. In other seasons and times, the presence of the Lord may feel less energetic but nevertheless is real and steady. Whether “feeling” the presence or not, God is indeed with us in all the seasons and times of our lives. People of God---the presence of the Lord is here! Rev.
