Jerusalem Bishop Munib A. Younan on "The Future for Palestinian Christians"

Two Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan (and Palestine) Bishop Munib A. Younan will speak at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago on January 25 at 7:00 p.m. His presentation, "The Future for Palestinian Christians," will take place in room 350. It is free and open to the public.

Bishop Younan received the 2001 Finnish Peace Prize from the Finnish Christian Peace Movement and the Human Rights Award from the United Nations Association. He is an active member of the Lutheran World Federation serving as a voting member, advisor to the LWF Council, and member of the youth committee. Younan is also vice president of the board of trustees of the Ecumenical Institute, Strasbourg, France. He works with the Middle East Council of Churches, the World Council of Churches, and the International Christian Committee.

Younan earned degrees from Luther Opisto College and the University of Helsinki in Finland. He was ordained as a Lutheran pastor in Jerusalem in 1976. He and his family reside in Jerusalem.
