Rev. Kleingartner celebrates 25th anniversary of ordination

The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) announces the 25th anniversary of ordination of The Rev. Dr. Connie Kleingartner. An ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Kleingartner is the Logos professor of evangelism and congregational ministry at the seminary.
The daughter of Minot residents Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kleingartner, Rev. Kleingartner completed her undergraduate education at Minot State University in 1971 and continued on to receive the master of divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. Following her ordination in 1977, she was pastor of Lutheran congregations in Dundee, Lamont and Belmond, Iowa, and Fridley, Minn. In 1985, she became coordinator for congregational life of the Iowa District of the former American Lutheran Church. The following year, she received the master of sacred theology degree in pastoral care from Wartburg Seminary. In 1999, she completed a doctorate in educational leadership at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.
Joining the LSTC faculty in 1995, Kleingartner teaches courses in ministry, and is director of the field education program. In that capacity, she develops internship locations that give students a variety of experiences, including mission development and multi-cultural exposure.
