Posted May 29, 2009

Christian Hip Hop artist Agapé (Dave Scherer) will perform in concert Sunday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Augustana Chapel at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. LSTC's Youth in Mission Program for high school youth is sponsoring the public concert. The concert is free and open to the public. Groups may call 773-256-0725 to reserve seats.

His CDs include: Many Rooms, Bridge the Gap, and Keepin’ it Tight. His music and more information about him are available on http://www.hiphopoutreach.com/.

Youth in Mission programs were originally funded by a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., for the purpose of encouraging young people to explore their gifts for ministry and to consider a profession of serving others through the church. Lilly continues to fund the YIM programs through a matching grant, and LSTC continues to seek individuals or congregations who wish to partner with us in this ministry. To invest in the future of YIM programs please contact Jessica Nipp at jnipp@lstc.edu.

The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago forms visionary leaders to bear witness to the good news of Jesus Christ. Its approximately 290 students come from all parts of the United States and from around the world to study in the masters level and advanced studies programs. Graduates become pastors, other church leaders, and university and seminary professors. LSTC is a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and a member of the Association of Chicago Theological Schools, allowing students to cross-register among the 12 member seminaries and drawing on a wealth of ecumenical resources. LSTC enjoys a number of cooperative arrangements with the University of Chicago.
