Growth in Faith Program Requirements

LSTC initiated the Growth in Faith (GiF) program in 2005 to create time and space to nurture spiritual growth. Growth in Faith activities are seminary-sponsored workshops and retreats open to all LSTC students regardless of their degree program and to the entire LSTC community, including staff, spouses and family members. The Director for Spiritual Formation supervises the GiF program.

Master of Divinity students must complete five Growth in Faith credits as a graduation requirement. For LSTC students who first enrolled in the fall of 2007 or after, two of these five credits must come from a core spiritual formation workshop. Core workshops are those granting two GiF credits.

GiF activities are not graded. The Director of Spiritual Formation certifies that students have completed a given GiF workshop or retreat and informs the LSTC Registrar, who enters GiF credits on student records.
