Current Priorities The Annual Fund
Gifts to the Annual Fund address the critical need for future leadership
in the church by supporting the seminary’s faculty and students.
Gifts to the Annual Fund may be unrestricted or designated for a purpose,
such as financial aid. The annual investments of congregations and individuals
pay a remarkable dividend: well-prepared pastors and leaders who serve
Christ and build the church.
Gifts to the Endowment
LSTC competes for students with major divinity schools and seminaries from across the country. One of the deciding factors for candidates is the financial support the school can offer. More endowed scholarships and faculty positions will help LSTC continue to attract and retain the very best teaching faculty and to offer the highest level of financial assistance possible to reduce the unduly high debt load of students, and so all people called by God to serve, regardless of financial circumstances, can attend LSTC.
Facilities Renovation
About two-thirds of LSTC students reside in seminary housing. LSTC’s 160+ vintage apartments in the Hyde Park neighborhood were constructed in the 1920’s. Improvements in insulation, kitchens and bathrooms, windows and flooring will make the apartments more efficient and livable while maintaining the advantages of neighborhood student apartments.
The LSTC campus opened at its present site in 1967. Converting to new, more efficient and environmentally sound systems mean better stewardship of the seminary’s resources and God’s creation. Updated classrooms, with increased comfort and technology make for a better learning environment.
