A curricular emphasis allows master of divinity, master of arts in ministry and master of arts in theological studies students to acquire knowledge and expertise in an area of study the goes beyond the basics of a given area in the core curriculum. It allows students to gain confidence and discipline in a designated scholarly area.
LSTC's long-held strengths and commitments in the areas of biblical studies, urban ministry, interfaith studies, religion and science, environmental ministry, and preparation for ministry within the Africa descent, Hispanic or Asian American communities have led faculty members to create emphases in these areas.
Detailed information on all of the emphases is included in the LSTC Student Handbook.
Upon successful completion of an emphasis, the student receives a certificate from LSTC and a notation is made on the student's stranscript.
