LSTC's Tithing and Stewardship Foundation offers six workshops in 2008-09 July 22, 2008

Starting with "Preaching Stewardship" led by the Rev. Dr. Craig A. Satterlee on September 13, 2008, the Tithing and Stewardship Foundation at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago will hold six workshops for seminary students, pastors, and congregation members. The ecumenical workshops are designed to deepen stewardship practices within the church. The workshops are free for seminarians and have a modest registration fee ($5 - 15 to cover the cost of materials) for all others. Other workshops being offered in 2008-09  are:

            "Stewardship and Justice" on Saturday, October 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. led by the Rev. Dr. Raymond Pickett , associate professor of New Testament at the Lutheran Seminary Program of the Southwest in Austin, Texas.

            "Foundations of Biblical Stewardship" on Saturday, November 15 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. led by the Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Klein, Christ Seminary-Seminex Professor Emeritus of Old Testament, and Dr. Audrey L.S. West, adjunct professor of New Testament.

            "Effective Congregational Stewardship" on Saturday, February 21, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. led by the Rev. Charles R. "Chick" Lane, director for Stewardship Key Leaders of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and author of Ask, Thank, Tell: Improving Stewardship Ministry in Your Congregation.

            "Stewardship and Wellness" on Saturday, March 21, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

            Annual LSTC/Metropolitan Chicago Synod Stewardship Event in April 2009, (details to be announced.)
