Many Voices, One Story

Observing our First Fifty Years:
Many Voices One Story

During the 2012-2013 school year, the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago celebrated its first 50 years. On September 4, 1962, the secretary of state of the State of Illinois signed the consolidation documents that merged four seminaries into the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

Voices share Histories

Several informal histories of LSTC were written for different reasons: on the occasion of other significant anniversaries, to introduce LSTC’s story to incoming students, and as the beginning of a lengthier history of the school. They are provided here, with the acknowledgment that there is much more of the story that remains to be told. Follow the links to the left to histories by Robert Fischer, Wesley Fuerst, Robert Marshall, Kadi Billman and “Decades One through Four.”

Special Events help tell the Story

Events for the year reflected the “Many Voices, One Story” theme.
