B.S, Indiana University of Pennsylvania


Sevan has a B.S.Ed. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, taught in both the public schools and at Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, New York. He attended graduate school in education and linguistics at State University of New York , Cortland. In 1981 he moved to Rochester New York and pursued a business career, working for JPMChase, Computer Task Group, April Personnel, and teaching at Rochester Business Institute and Bryant and Stratton.

In 1996 Sevan became the resident priest at the Chicago Zen Center in Evanston  Illinois and served in this position through early 2010. He now resides once again in Western Pennsylvania, where he sits with and offers leadership to a local Sangha and to students who make periodic practice visits.
