David Creech serves as the Program Director for Hunger Education for ELCA World Hunger. Prior to earning his Ph.D. in theology from Loyola University Chicago, David received a B.A. in anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.  His research interests include the varieties of early Christianity, ancient and modern hermeneutics, the role of sacred texts in ethical deliberation, the theology of the Bible, and food and theology. David lives in Lake Bluff, Illinois with his wife, Jessica and their three children, Ian, Ela, and Dylan.  David and Jessica are deeply engaged in the youth and family ministries of Church of the Holy Spirit, their home congregation.
