Coming from the South
The Dan Ryan Expressway, I-90/94, construction project has been completed.
Exit the Dan Ryan Expressway at Garfield Blvd.
Turn right onto Garfield Blvd./55th and travel east to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
Stay on Garfield Blvd., driving east into Washington Park beyond King Drive. You will shortly come to a fork in the road. Stay left and follow the curve of the road going north and east. Through the curve, yield to traffic entering the road on the right. Turn right at the stop sign at 55th Street.
Once on 55th Street, continue to University Avenue, one way going north. Turn left onto University and either park on the street or continue north on University past the LSTC building to the parking lot entrance on the left at 54th Place.
When parking in the lot, please be sure to get a visitor parking pass at the McCormick Seminary front desk.
"Coming from the East” is an alternate to the directions above.
Coming from the North, or West
Take
any expressway to Interstate 55 North and follow the signs of Lake Shore
Drive South (I-55 ends at Lake Shore Drive
Take Lake
Shore Drive south to the 53rd Street exit.
Turn left
at the first traffic light (Hyde Park Boulevard) and proceed to 55th Street.
Turn right
on 55th and continue for 3/4 mile to University Ave. (one block west of
the traffic light at Woodlawn Ave.
Turn right
at University Avenue. The seminary will be on your left.
ALTERNATE: Take the Dan Ryan Expressway southbound to the Garfield/55th Street exit. Upon exit turn left (east) and travel east to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
Stay on Garfield Blvd., driving east into Washington Park beyond King Drive. You will shortly come to a fork in the road. Stay left and follow the curve of the road going north and east to turn onto 55th Street as it heads straight east again. Through the curve, yield to traffic entering the road on the right.
Once on 55th Street, continue to University Avenue, one way going north. Turn left onto University and either park on the street or continue north on University past the LSTC building to the parking lot entrance on the left at 54th Place.
Coming from the East
Take
Interstate 94 to the Stony Island exit.
Go north
approximately 5 miles on Stony Island to 56th Street (Stony Island ends
at 56th Street.) (Please note that at around 67th street, Stony splits. Take the Left two lanes staying on Stony, as the right two lanes turn into Cornell and will take you to Lake Shore Drive, which will take you out of the way. If you do happen to find yourself on Lake Shore Drive, proceed to 57th, turn left onto 57th at the Museum of Science and Industry, and go west around the Museum, to Stony Island, turn right onto Stony Island, and proceed as follows...)
Turn left when Stoney splits,
go under the viaduct, and turn right onto Lake Park.
Turn left
at the first traffic light onto 55th Street and drive to University Avenue
One block west of the traffic light at Woodlawn Avenue
Turn right
at University Avenue. The seminary will be on your left.
Parking
Visitor parking is available on the north end of the seminary.
